Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio sent an email to supporters asking for help to pay the massive legal bills he has been forced to pay by vengeful federal prosecutors seeking to block him from enforcing immigration law.
“In some instances I have to personally pay for attorneys to represent me in these cases,” Arpaio wrote in an email Thursday. “I do not have the personal wealth or the wherewithal to keep up with the costly demands of paying for attorneys to defend me.”
Federal prosecutors and all manner of leftist media publications have been after Sheriff Joe for years. The latest legal wrangling is over trumped up charges of so-called “racial profiling” and over the Sheriff’s use of state identity theft laws to arrest and jail illegal aliens.
The lawfare aimed at Sheriff Joe has been unrelenting.
