GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump turned up the rhetorical heat on Jeb Bush by saying his tough immigration policies would have kept the 9/11 plotters out of the country.
“I am extremely, extremely tough on illegal immigration. I’m extremely tough on people coming into this country. I believe that if I were running things, I doubt those people would have been in the country,” Trump said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“With that being said, I’m not blaming George Bush. But I don’t want Jeb Bush saying, ‘My brother kept us safe,’ because Sept. 11 was one of the worst days in the history of this country.”
Trump raised the immigration issue earlier in relation to terrorism and the 9/11 attacks and pointed at the Bush Administration as partially at fault.
Bush and Trump have been feuding publicly over this issue since Friday, when Trump noted in a Bloomberg News interview that “the World Trade Center came down during [George W. Bush’s] reign,” appearing to suggest that the former president shared the blame for the Sept. 11 attacks.
Let’s keep it simple: Trump was right. Jeb is a very unattractive candidate. He obviously thinks he is some kind of superstar legacy from the Bush clan. He isn’t. He is lackluster. Supremely uninspiring and uninteresting. In many ways it almost seems he is running to make immigration more absurd than it already is, criminally so. This is a losing proposition from the get-go. Jeb dredges around looking for leverage against others, but he is his own worst enemy. Jeb is a “make things worse” kinda guy. Trump is a “we will fix what’s wrong A.S.A.P.” kinda guy. In my mind, there is no contest! In 2016, I will vote for the baddest most diabolical Doctor Death on all ant-American immigration abuse (the big con job Americans have been spoon fed for about 4 decades). The toughest candidate on immigration, the guy who will use a bulldozer to doze away the endless left wing BS (and some right wing too), will be my man (or woman – but there is no woman who yet seems completely to get the immigration con, that which is destroying the country to benefit elites and immigrants, but not Americans). For now GO TRUMP. You are on the right track and the grass roots know it.
I am so glad Donald Trump said what I have been saying for years. If our immigration laws had been enforced, the 9/11 terrorist attack never would have happened. The terrorists came here on visas and those visas expired. We need an entry- exit system for visas to make sure we don’t have over stays like we do now. After 9/11 you would think that our government would have fixed that immediately. No too hard to do, but they’re planning on sending a space ship to Mars.
