Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced he will not seek re-election in 2016 ending his long Senate career.
A long enough career for Reid to go from this:
“If making it easy to be an illegal alien isn’t enough, how about offering a reward for being an illegal immigrant? No sane country would do that, right? Guess again. If you break our laws by entering this country without permission and give birth to a child, we reward that child with your citizenship, and guarantee a full access to all public and social services this society provides. Now that’s a lot of services. Is it any wonder that 2/3 of the babies born at taxpayer expense in county-run hospitals in Los Angeles are born to illegal alien mothers?”
To this:
Regarded as one of the Senate’s leading parliamentary fighters, Reid never summoned the wherewithal to push amnesty through the Senate. Though it was not for want of effort.
Observers believe the two leading contenders to head the Democrat Senate caucus are Richard Durbin of Illinois and Charles Schumer of New York. For immigration patriots it looks like either was the new boss, same as the old boss.
