Nevada attorney general joins lawsuit against Obama’s amnesty

(Reuters) – Nevada’s newly minted Republican attorney general has joined a multi-state lawsuit seeking to block President Barack Obama’s order easing the threat of deportation for millions of undocumented immigrants, without the support of the state’s moderate governor.

Attorney General Adam Laxalt, sworn in Jan. 5 after a campaign that focused at times on challenging federal overreach, said that Obama’s November order undermines the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution.

“The president cannot bypass the people’s elected representatives in Congress just because they do not pass the laws he wants,” Laxalt said in a statement on Monday.

However, Laxalt joined the lawsuit without the backing of Nevada’s top elected official, Governor Brian Sandoval, a popular moderate Republican who easily won re-election.

  4. All illegal aliens might share in the dream of migrating to the US in hopes of enjoying our beautiful country, but by definition they are doing so illegally. Nothing wrong with dreaming, but there is something wrong with breaking US law. My belief is to reform immigration laws to become more stiff, not more friendly. Like, pass a law stating that a person born of an illegal alien parent is a citizen of the mother’s nation of origin and not of the US. Hence, if an illegal alien decides to give birth while on US soil that child will be so identified as an illegal alien as well and both parent and child be immediately deported to the country of the mother’s origin. Unless the person is a legitimized and recognized political refuge from a hostile country and is seeking exile to the US, and it is approved through legal US channels, will an illegal alien and their offspring (if born in the US) be granted temporary legal status. In the meantime, I believe a militia should be developed so as to protect our most vulnerable border and its members be comforted by the second amendment of our constitution the right to carry and bare arms, including concealed weapons, and given the power to escort and deport persons back across the border and/or if necessary be allowed to use lethal force should the illegal perpetrator pose a physical threat or harm to life and limb to a militia enforcement officer(s) during the capturing, detaining, and deportation phase of the securing the border operations.
