Leading Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders endorsed allowing illegal aliens to buy health insurance through Obamacare.
The Vermont socialist made the remarks as he addressed the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in a closed door meeting.
Aides later said that Sanders believes that in certain cases, undocumented immigrants should be able to purchase health insurance through the exchanges set up under Obamacare, using their own money.
Of course, it would be a short walk from allowing illegals to buy insurance with their own money to making them eligible for the same subsidies as other workers. And just where are illegals getting the money to buy health insurance from?
Federal law bars undocumented immigrants from enrolling in health-care exchanges. But on Wednesday, Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), a vocal immigration reform supporter, and other Democrats introduced a bill that would extend Affordable Care Act coverage to undocumented immigrants.
First amnesty, then Obamacare.
