Minuteman Founder Endorses Duey Stroebel for Congress

Aliso Viejo, CA – Minuteman Project Founder and President Jim Gilchrist, the nation’s leading grassroots activist on the issue of immigration reform and border security, announced today he is endorsing State Representative Duey Stroebel in the Republican Primary for the open Congressional seat in the 6^th District of Wisconsin.  Gilchrist cited Stroebel’s strong plan to secure the border, updating technology in the visa system to eliminate those who stay past their allotted time, and have a merit based citizenship system that rewards educated, English speaking, future taxpayers into the American culture.  Polls show that immigration reform and border security remains one of the top issues facing voters of the state of Wisconsin in the upcoming August 12 Republican Primary.

Gilchrist stated, “Duey Stroebel has a long track record of fighting for taxpayers.  As voters look for new leadership to replace Tom Petri, you can trust Duey Stroebel when he says he will demand the Federal Government enforce our laws and secure our borders.  Duey Stroebel is just the guy Wisconsin needs to end the chaos of illegal immigration.”

Regarding the August 12 Republican Primary Gilchrist said, “For too long law abiding Americans have grown tired of watching the political establishment lack the will to enforce our nation’s laws when it comes to border security and immigration policy.  Wisconsin needs someone in DC that will fight on behalf of taxpayers to end the influx of illegal aliens in America and that is why I wholeheartedly endorse Duey Stroebel for US Congress.”

Jim Gilchrist founded the multi-ethnic Minuteman Project on Oct. 1, 2004, after years of frustrated efforts trying to get a neglectful U.S. government to simply enforce existing immigration laws.  Thousands of patriots since then have volunteered tens of thousands of man hours performing the “world’s largest neighborhood watch” by joining Gilchrist on the US-Mexico border.  Armed only with lawn chairs, binoculars, and satellite phones, they support the efforts of the US Border Patrol.

Jim holds a B.A. in newspaper journalism, a B.S. in business administration, and an M.B.A. in taxation. He is a former newspaper reporter and a retired California CPA (Certified Public Accountant).  Jim is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and recipient of the Purple Heart award for wounds sustained while serving with an infantry unit in Vietnam, 1968 – 1969.

Mr. Gilchrist is a passionate defender of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and an avid supporter of law enforcement organizations. He has appeared on over 3000 radio and TV news and commentary shows in the past decade, and he believes he is only one of millions of 21st century minutemen / women / children who want the U.S. to remain governed by the “rule of law” and who want proactive enforcement of our national security protections and our immigration legal code.
