The Open Borders crowd constantly whines about how expensive and impracticable building a secure border fence is. It’s so difficult that despite the fact its been authorized numerous times, very little of our Southern Border is currently fenced.
However, building a secure border fence isn’t that hard, if you have the will as the nation of Hungary is showing.
Hungary said Monday its shutdown of the border with Croatia had put a stop to the influx of migrants and refugees.
Only 41 people crossed into the EU member state on Sunday, the government said.
“The border closure is working, it has effectively stopped illegal border-crossing,” government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs told reporters in Nagykanizsa, close to the Croatian border.
Earlier this year up to 10,000 illegal immigrants crossed into Hungary every day. The Hungarian government closed its border, built a fence and now the illegal immigrant invasion has for all intents and purposes stopped.
