It was bound to come to this.
Now the Far Left radicals want to censor the use of the word “alien” to refer to illegal immigrants who break the law by illegally crossing the border.
The measure, introduced by Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, is known as the Correcting Hurtful and Alienating Names in Government Expression, or CHANGE, act. It calls for the government to replace the term “illegal alien” with “undocumented foreign national.” It would also prevent executive branch agencies from using the words “aliens” or “illegal aliens” in any of its signs or literature.
Rep. Castro seems interested in saving hurt feelings but not those of the thousands of Americans who are paying the ultimate price for allowing millions of criminal illegal aliens into the country.
Castro is very upfront about his intentions to use the power of the federal government to impose his radical agenda.
Current law uses the term “alien” to describe a person who is not a U.S. citizen. In recent years, the term has fallen out of favor with both the media and immigration activists.
Castro said such revisionist wording isn’t unprecedented. He said in the past, laws have been changed to remove the word “lunatic” and “mentally retarded.”
“Words matter, particularly in the context of an issue as contentious as immigration,” Castro said. “Discontinuing our use of the term ‘alien’ will help lessen the prejudice and vitriol that for too long have poisoned our nation’s discussions around immigration reform.”
No matter what Congress says, illegal aliens will always be illegal aliens. And no doubt should Castro’s law pass, they would spare no expense to enforce it against patriots like Minuteman Project unlike they do against illegal aliens who are actual lawbreakers.
