Chris Christie: No Border Fence

Potential Presidential candidate Chris Christie came out against a border fence during an economic summit hosted by Florida Governor Rick Scott.

The solution to the country’s immigration issues is “not building a wall or fence on the entire border,” Christie said during an economic summit in Florida hosted by Gov. Rick Scott. “The entire border? Absolutely not.”

Instead, Christie wants to target U.S. employers by mandating that they use E-Verify, an online system that verifies a person’s employment eligibility by cross-referencing data with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration.

“We have to put the onus on employers,” Christie said.

Of course, leave it to American entrepreneurs to do the job the federal government is constitutional obligated to do but refuses.

Also, Gov. Christie, there may be other reasons to secure the Southern Border besides immigration law enforcement.
